When the Save As dialog box appears, select a location for the list file. Right-click the Address Leases node and click Export List on the pop-up menu.Ĥ. Expand the target server's node in the MMC until you see the Address Leases node.ģ. Open the DHCP snap-in by selecting Start > Administrative Tools > DHCP.Ģ. In order for this lab to be meaningful, you should have at least one or two leases in use.ġ. You can use this file for analysis or record keeping long after leases have expired or been renewed. In Exercise 5.7, you will create a tab-delimited text file containing information about all leases in a scope, the same data that you see in the Address Leases view. Normally, it's better to let leases expire rather than manually canceling them, but sometimes circumstances dictate otherwise. This actually removes the lease, but not before canceling it. If you want to remove a client lease, you can do so by right-clicking it in the Address Leases view and selecting Delete. This view will show you the client IP address, the client DNS name, the lease's duration, and the client's unique DHCP ID (if there is one). When you open the scope and click the Address Leases item under the scope name, you'll see an easy-to-read list of all the leases currently in force for that scope. You monitor which DHCP leases have been assigned using the Address Leases view associated with a particular scope.
